The Effingham County Sports Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding local athletes, coaches, officials, teams, and other people/businesses that have made major contributions to the sports tradition of Effingham County. In honoring recipients worthy of this recognition, the inductees possess lifestyles which identify each as a possible role model for the youth of our community in addition to excelling in their particular athletic endeavors.

The Seventh Annual Sports Hall of Fame Banquet was held on Saturday March 28, 2009. Master of Ceremony was Mr. Sonny Dixon. Special guests were State Representatives Buddy Carter and Jon Burns.
